ISLAMABAD, June 18, 2014: The lawmakers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly discussed budget 2014-15 during fifth (evening) sitting of 14th session on Wednesday, says Free and Fair Election Network in its Daily Factsheet.
Ten lawmakers, including Chief Minister and two minority members, participated in the budget debate. The members, three each of PTI, PML-N and JUI-F and one of PPPP, spoke for an hour and 39 minutes of which the opposition’s share is an hour and 10 minutes.
Members’ Participation in House Proceedings:
- The KP Assembly met for two hours and 29 minutes, taking 41 minutes break.
- The sitting started at 1655 hours against the scheduled time of 1600 hours, witnessing a delay of 55 minutes.
- The Speaker chaired the entire sitting while the Deputy Speaker was absent.
- The Chief Minister, the Leader of the Opposition and the Finance Minister were present during entire sitting.
- The parliamentary leaders of QWP-S, ANP, PML-N, PPPP, JUI-F, JI and AJIP were present.
- Twenty-six members were present at the outset, 45 at the adjournment while a maximum of 62 were there at one point during the sitting.
- Two minority members also attended the sitting.
Representation and Responsiveness:
