ISLAMABAD, June 18, 2014: The Balochistan Assembly condemned the murder of their colleague Hendry Masih and the lawmakers observed two-minute silence over the incident during the first sitting of 11th session, says Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN).
A PkMAP lawmaker moved a joint resolution to condemn the murder of National Party MPA Hendry Masih. The Chief Minister condemned the brutal murder and condoled with the aggrieved family.
Following are some key observations of the proceedings:
Members’ Participation in House Proceedings
- The Balochistan Assembly met for 05 minutes.
- The sitting started at 1645 hours against the scheduled time of 1600 hours, witnessing a delay of 45 minutes.
- Thirty-seven members were present at the start and 37 at the end of sitting. A maximum of 37 members were observed to be present at one point of the sitting.
- The Speaker chaired the entire sitting.
- The Chief Minister was present in the House for the entire sitting while the Leader of the Opposition was absent.
- The parliamentary leaders of PML, PML-N, PkMAP and NP were present.
- No members applied for leave.
- One minority member was present during the sitting.
