ISLAMABAD, June 26, 2014: The Balochistan Assembly witnessed introduction of four legislative bills on Thursday during sixth siting of 12th session, says Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) in its Daily Factsheet.
The Provincial Minister for Services and General Administration tabled four bills in the House including the Balochistan Judicial Academy (Amendment) Bill 2014, the Balochistan Chief Minister and Provincial Ministers Salaries, Allowances and Privileges (Amendment) Bill 2014, the Balochistan Speaker and Deputy Speaker Salaries, Allowances and Privileges (Amendment) Bill 2014 and the Balochistan Members, Allowances and Privileges (Amendment) Bill 2014.
The Provincial Minister for Law presented statements of expenditures and liabilities for financial years 2013-2014 and 2014-2015.
Following are some key observations of the proceedings:
Members’ Participation in House Proceedings
- The Balochistan Assembly met for 20 minutes.
- The sitting started at 1230 hours against the scheduled time of 1100 hours, witnessing a delay of an hour and 30 minutes.
- Thirty-two members were present at the start and 32 at the end of sitting. A maximum of 32 members were observed to be present at one point during the sitting.
- The Speaker chaired the entire sitting.
- The Chief Minister attended the entire sitting while the Leader of the Opposition was also present.
- The parliamentary leaders of JUI-F, PML, PkMAP, NP and ANP were present.
- No member applied for leave.
- Two minority members were present during the sitting.
Output
