Will the Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication be pleased to state:
(a) whether it is a fact that Universal Service Fund, an attachedbody of the Ministry is playing an active role in providing broadband services to remote and backward areas of the country and does not take even a single rupee from the Government in its projects;
(b) whether it is also a fact that in 2013 the Government had borrowed 61 billion rupees loan from the fund of the said institution and only about Rs.20 billion have been returned during last eleven years, while as per SIFC decision, the remaining amount must be paid in three equal installments;
(c) if so, what extent it has been implemented and the time by which 40 billion rupees will be returned so that the service providing projects for backward areas may continue?
