A meeting of the Sub-Committee of the Standing Committee on Planning and Development and Reforms was called on 8th January, 2016 for discussion of the steps/possible solution required to secure coastal area of Balochistan and Sindh from Karachi to Badin from sea intrusion in light of Vision-2025. In the said meeting Chief Secretary Balochistan, Secretary, Planning and Development Balochitan, Secretary, Coastal Areas of Balochistan and Secretary, Disaster Management were invited. However, they did not bother to attend the meeting. It shows the ignorance and colossus behavior towards the issue which was of the great public importance. I also would like to mention that in the previous meeting of the Sub-Committee, the above mentioned officers never attended the meeting. We, being the public representatives, have to contact the Government functionaries to conduct official business on public grievances. Such type of behavior of officers is very insulting and uncalled for. I move that the motion may be admitted and referred to the Privileges Committee.
