1 This is a resolution of the Senate of Pakistan to condole the passing away of Mr. Intizar Hussain. The Senate of Pakistan expresses its deep grief on the passing away of one of Pakistan’s most eminent men of letters Mr. Intizar Hussain. He was a legend in his life time, full of vitality, creativity and a commitment to quality writing, as Pakistan’s towering literary personality his collection of short stories and his novels in Urdu are a class by themselves and number of his works are also translated into English. He was rightly acclaimed in his life time as Pakistan’s most accomplished living author. The Government’s announcement of An Annual Intizar Hussain Literary Award is a befitting tribute to the eternal memory of the great writer Private Adopted
2 This House expresses its profound grief and sorrow on the demise of former Deputy Chairman, Senate, Senator Malik Muhammad Ali Khan. Senator Malik Muhammad Ali Khan was born on 23rd March, 1934 in an agriculture family of District Qasoor. After completion of his graduation from Lahore, he participated in the welfare programs for the people of his area and remained Chairman of the Union Council from 1960 to 1968. He also remained member of the District Council, Lahore and Qasoor. He was elected from the Punjab Provincial Assembly in the year 1970. He was elected as Member Senate of Pakistan in the year 1985 and was re-elected in the year 1988 for a six years term. He remained Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan from the year 1986 to 1988. During his tenure as a Senator as well as Deputy Chairman, Senate, he made useful contribution in the Senate on national and regional issues. Services rendered by him would be long remembered and his loss will be deeply mourned. While sharing the loss sustained by his family members and friends, this House expresses its deep sympathies with the bereaved family. We pray to Almighty Allah to shower his infinite blessings and may his soul rest in eternal peace. Aameen. Government Adopted
2 A great name in literature “Miss Fatima Suriya Bajiya” has passed from this world. She was one of the best intellectual, drama writer, of Pakistan. She gave many famous names to Pakistan Television Network as she was an institution in herself. She worked for the promotion of Urdu language and his family is playing a key role in the development of Pakistan. I think the House will agree with this statement and will pass this resolution.
