| 5 | The Majilis-e-Shora(Parliament) expresses its determination to eliminate illiteracy from the country. The Parliament unanimously passed a resolution on the eve of International Literacy Day 8 September , expressing its resolve to eradicate illiteracy from the country by utilizing all the available resources for educating each and every child. The house also express concern over low ranking of Pakistan in social sectors especially Education sector faced the lowest position in international ranking which caused distress among nation. The resolution called upon the federal and provincial governments, civil societies and private sector to take appropriate measures for hundred percent literacy at primary level. The house also requests to federal government, provincial governments, civil societies and private sectors to take effective steps to promote literacy at primary level and urged to provide the more resource, So that Pakistan could progress in education and human sector | Government | Adopted |
| 10 | Recalling resolutions passed by the National Assembly on 21st August, 2014 and by the Senate on 22nd August, 2014, this Joint Sitting of Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament) hereinafter referred to as Parliament, emphatically reiterates in unequivocal, unwavering and unqualified resolve to uphold the supremacy of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the democratic system, sanctity of State institutions and the rule of law, which are the founding pillars of the State of Pakistan, as envisaged by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinah, Rehmatulah Alaih, and the sovereignty of Parliament which embodies the will and the mandate of the people of Pakistan. Parliament condemns the Dharnas in the Red Zone of Islamabad and their unconstitutional demands made under threat of forcible occupation of Parliament House, Prime Minister’s House and other State buildings. Parliament also strongly condemns the forcible entry into and occupation of the front compound of Parliament House by workers of PTI and PAT and other allied parties, the assault of the Prime Minister’s House and Pakistan Secretariat and the forcible occupation of PTV. Parliament regards the breach of the precincts of Parliament House and trespass therein with utmost seriousness. Parliament notes with great concern the incalculable damage caused by the current situation to the Nation’s economy and to its international image reflected, inter alia, in the cancelation/postponement of visits of important foreign dignitaries including the President of China during whose visit MOUs for US$ 32 billion were to be signed. Parliament regrets that this situation has diverted attention from the plight of internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by the hugely important Zarb-i-Azab operation launched by our valiant armed forces and from the housands of persons affected by the recent floods in Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Sindh. Parliament notes the Government’s restraint, inter alia, on the advice of political parties of the Parliament in the face of provocation and its efforts to achieve a negotiated, amicable settlement with the two parties. In conclusion, this Joint Sitting of the Parliament places on record its sense of satisfaction that at this important juncture in the nation’s history, all democratic forces in Parliament have displayed extraordinary unity and resolve to stand together to defeat the direct challenge to the supremacy of the Constitution and the sovereignty of the Parliament. The Joint Sitting of the Parliament also appreciates and acknowledges with gratitude the tremendous support for the democratic system expressed by all sections of civil society including the legal fraternity, the business community, technical and academic professional and indeed citizens across the length and breadth of Pakistan | Government | Adopted |
