Resolution
Sitting No. | Resolution | Type of Resolution | Status |
1 | This House expresses its profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Senate Agha Shahbaz Khan Durrani who passed away on 25th June, 2017. The Senate of Pakistan has lost one of its young and dynamic legislator who was passionate, conscientious a hardworking and approached Parliamentary Business with a youthful enthusiasm and zeal. Senator Agha Shahbaz Khan Durrani was elected as Senator from the Province of Balochistan against a seat reserved for Technocrats and Ulema in 2015 and was Chairman of the Senate Functional Committee on Government Assurances. The late Senator Agha Shahbru Khan Durrani not only actively. Participated in debates on legislative and non-legislative matters in the Upper House but also raised voice for the marginalized segments of the society, particularly the issues being faced by the people of Balochistan. He was persuasive and effective, and earned the respect of many for confronting problems and issues directly. Senator Agha Shahbaz Khan Durrani belonged to a Noble family and possessed a strong professional background, but his dealing with the Members and Staff of the Senate was highly respectful and full of warmth. He has earned great respect in the minds and hearts of fellow Parliamentarians through his actions and behavior as well as cordial discussion. He has left behind a very young family comprising of wife and four sons aged between 2 to 16 years, for whom his early demise is a lifelong loss and vacuum. We all share the loss sustained by his family and friends and express the deepest sympathies with the bereaved family. We pray to Almighty Allah to shower His infinite blessings upon the departed soul and may his soul rest in eternal peace (Ameen). A copy of this resolution may be sent to the bereaved family as an expression of the high esteem and affection in which he was held | Joint | Adopted |
