  Resolution

Sitting No. Resolution Type of Resolution Status
1 This House expresses grave concern over the filing of references by the President against some honourable judges of the Supreme Court and High Courts in a secretive manner without even the knowledge of the concerned judges. The filing of the references has provoked serious criticism, caused serious split in the Bar and the resignation of the Additional Attorney General, there is a lingering suspicion that the arbitrary and suspicious manner of the filing of Presidential reference is linked to some recent verdicts of the honourable judges. The references are a direct attack on the independence of judiciary and are aimed at stickling to voices of a reason, truth and justice in the highest judiciary. This House expresses solidarity with honourable judges under siege, lawyers, elected representatives and Bar Councils of the country. The House calls upon the Government to withdraw the references against them. Private Adopted
