  Resolution

Sitting No. Resolution Type of Resolution Status
1 Acknowledging the fact that Quran is an universal book which is relevant for all times and all places and is a source of eternal guidance for humanity and provides not just a way of life but serves as a book of syllabus for human life. Realizing the fact that this Holy Book helps man to come out of darkness and move into realm of light and that modern research, science and technology are derived from this Universal source of human guidance. Noting that the western nations are acknowledging the fact that the mysteries of the universe can be revealed through the guidance of the Holy Quran. Therefore, it is incumbent upon every Muslim to read and reflect on the message of the Holy Quran and follow the teachings of the Holy Quran in their practical lives. Noting that the wisdoms of the Holy Quran paves the way for a scientific revolution in the fields of medicine, artificial intelligence, robotics, space research and other areas. Observing with a serious concern that MPhil and PhD programs of various varsities are confined to imparting conservative knowledge of Islam and history. Realizing the need that MPhil and PhD programs in Islamic studies should be aligned with modern thinking originating from the Holy Quran. The Senate of Pakistan, therefore, resolves that all universities of Pakistan should revise their MPhil and PhD programs and align them with the requirements of the modern times which are truly based on research, critical thinking, scientific approach and practical application of Quranic knowledge. The Senate of Pakistan also recommends to the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan to develop guidelines for all the universities of Pakistan to update the syllabus of their MPhil and PhD programs and align it with modern scientific requirements. Private Adopted

7 Cognizant of the fact that social media platforms are adversely affecting the young generation in the country; Acknowledging the fact that these platforms are being used for promotion of norms against our religion and culture, creating hatred amongst the people on the grounds of language and religion; Noting with concern on the use of such platforms against the interests of the country through negative and malicious propaganda against the armed forces of Pakistan; Observing that such platforms are being used by vested interests for spreading fake news about various issues and try to create and promote fake leadership in the country to hoodwink the young generation; The Senate of Pakistan, therefore, recommends to the Government to put a ban on Facebook, Tik Tok, Instagram, Twitter (X) and Youtube in order to save the young generation from their negative and devastating effects. Private Withdrawn
7 Noting with concern that Israeli army carried out a brutal massacre on 29th February, 2024, on innocent and unarmed Palestinians who were gathered to received aid (food supplies, medicine, etc.) as a result hundreds of Palestinians were murdered in cold blood; Realizing that people of Palestine are already being starved due to the blockade from the International Community by the Israeli army; This House strongly recommends and urges International Community to take action such that the siege of Gaza be lifted immediately and Muslims countries be allowed all access and cover for delivery of aid. Private Adopted
10 Emphasizing the importance of Gender Equality Through Economic Empowerment, as highlighted by the theme for International Women Day, consistent with the priority theme of the UN 68th Commission on the Status of Women aimed at advancing economic inclusion for women and girls globally; Recognizing the persistent disparities and challenges faced by women and girls worldwide, including but not limited to economic, social and political barriers that hinder their full participation and contribution to society; The Senate of Pakistan recommends that the Government should take measures to ensure and enhance women economic inclusion, including but not limited to,- i) Enhancing recruitment, retention and development opportunities for female talent through effective education and skills programs; ii) Facilitating support mechanisms for women and girls to access leadership, decision-making roles, entrepreneurship and STEM fields through strategic planning and educational reforms; iii) Investing in infrastructure that caters to the specific needs of women and girls across various economic sectors; iv) Introducing gender-sensitive policies and fostering inclusive work environments that prioritize the well-being and advancement of women v) Reforming national health policies to empower women in making informed decisions about their health and reproductive rights; vi) Formulating and implementing policies aimed at integrating women and girls into sustainable agricultural practices and ensuring food security through comprehensive training programs. Eliminate all forms of violence against women through effective and robust legal justice system; vii) Encourage businesswomen to participate actively in ecommerce through entrepreneurship. The House also calls upon all stakeholders, including government agencies, civil society organizations, the private sector, the media, academia and individuals, to join hands in the collective pursuit of gender equality and women empowerment, recognizing that only through concerted and sustained efforts can we build a more inclusive, equitable and just society for all Private Adopted
10 This house embraces the historical opinion of the Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan in the Presidential reference filed 12 years ago by President Asif Ali Zardari to reopen the case of death sentence of the 1st elected Prime Minister of Pakistan Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. As per opinion of the Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan 45 years ago, during the rule of a Military dictator, when Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was sentenced to death, justice and a fair trial was not granted in accordance with the constitution. The Supreme Court has acknowledged, by its remarkable decision that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto execution was a judicial murder and did not receive a fair trial according to the law. This ruling highlights the importance of upholding the principles of justice and ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their status, are entitled to a fair trial in accordance with the Constitution. It serves as a reminder of the need to address past injustices and uphold the rule of law in the pursuit of justice and accountability. The verdict on., the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhuttos case should be overturned. On this occasion, we salute the sacrifices of Begum Nusrat Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, who sacrificed their lives to seek justice against the cold blooded judicial murder of Shaheed Zulfikar AS Bhutto. The House also acknowledges the efforts of Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari who single mindedly pursued the Presidential reference in the Supreme Court of Pakistan. That Senate of Pakistan should approach the Federal Government that: 1. Shaheed Zulifqar ali Bhutto should be declared a National Democratic Hero 2. This house demands from the Federal Government to officially declare Zulfikar Ali Bhutto as Shaheed. 3. Also, the Nishan-e-Zulfikar Ali Bhutto should be awarded to political workers and activists who have fought and sacrificed their lives for democracy. Private Adopted
