1 Senator Shery Rehman, to move the following resolution:- “This House expresses its profound grief and sorrow on the martyrdom of His Excellency Mr.Ebrahim Raisi, President of brotherly Islamic Republic of Iran, His Excellency Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Foreign Minister of Iran and their companions, in a tragic helicopter crash on 19th May 2024. President Raisi was a great leader of the Muslim world and a true friend of Pakistan. Pakistan stands in solidarity with the Iranian nation in this hour of grief we join our Iranian brothers and sisters in mourning thisirreparable loss. The untimely demise of President Raisi and those traveling with himis not only a huge loss to their families and the Iranian nation but the entire Muslim Ummah. The Government and the people of Pakistan extend their sincerest prayers that may Allah Almighty bless the departed souls. The Government of Pakistan has observed one day ofnational mourning on 21st May 2024 to honour the most precious liveslost in the tragedy.
