ISLAMABAD, March 4, 2024: The National Assembly convened on Monday for the Fourth sitting of its inaugural session.
The following are key observations of the sitting:
• As many as 10 members spoke on 12 points of order (POs) for two hours and 30 minutes. The lawmakers discussed the current political situation and the issue of election rigging.
• The lawmakers belonging to the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) chanted slogans during the speech of Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
• A PPPP lawmaker pointed out the quorum at 14:24 which was found incomplete (57 members were present) upon counting and the House was adjourned to meet again on Friday, March, 8 at 17:00 hours.
• The session commenced 42 minutes later than scheduled and lasted for two hours and 43 minutes.
• As many as 120 lawmakers were present at the start of the sitting, and 57 by the end of the sitting. Additionally, three members, elected on the seats reserved for non-Muslims, attended the sitting.
• The next sitting of the National Assembly will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 1700 Hours.
