Will the Minister for Energy (Power Division) be pleased to state: (a) the detail of number of Independent Power Producers (IPP's) currently operating in the country; (b) how many of these IPP’s are foreign based and national based companies at present; (c) whether there is any proposal under consideration of the Government to renegotiate the existing contracts; (d) if so, the details thereof; if not, the reasons thereof; (e) the details of the contracts signed with IPP’s including terms, rates and duration of these contracts; and (f) if the answers to above is in affirmative, then in which Government tenure these agreements were made?
